Mr. SAM Sokong is an attorney-at-law and member of the Bar Association of
the Kingdom of Cambodia. He graduated from Panhacheat University with
Master Decree in Law and Bachelor of Law from Royal University of Law and
Economics (RULE). He has been a member of the Bar Association of
Cambodia since 2003 after he finished lawyer professional training at the
Lawyers’ Training Center. Currently, he is a member of the Bar Council, legal
adviser at the National Assembly’s Human Rights Commission, lawyer
defending victims at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia
(ECCC) and member of the Board of Directors of a number of local NGOs. He
had previously worked as human rights lawyer for a few local legal aid NGOs
including the Legal Aid of Cambodia (LAC) and the Cambodian Defenders’
Project (CDP). His area of expertise covers criminal law, civil law and
international human rights law. He got additional trainings in a number of
countries in Asia and in Sweden the field of international human rights law
and international criminal law.
